interdisciplinary study of aspects related to musical cognitive processing, involving neuropsychological assessment of musical abilities; the investigation of musical learning deficits (amusias) and music processing in specific neuropsychological syndromes; investigations of the modularity of the musical cognitive processing and the relationship of music cognition and other cognitive functions, such as memory, numerical cognition and emotions.

Study of the musical phenomenon in its dual role, both as a product of social reality and as part of the construction process of this reality, through historical analysis of processes of creation and artistic appreciation, integrating historical aspects, social and cultural. Analysis of the social representations of musical production in Brazil and complex dialogues of this production with other artistic languages and practices as an instrument to the music joint as heritage, from the recognition of its historical significance. Study of artistic production associated with other forms of social activity and incorporated the various textures of life having as reference its contextualized cultural meanings in time and space.
